Cross-contamination

  • Please be aware that our kitchens, which handle the ingredients needed to manufacture all of our items, bake every product fresh on-site. Although we have procedures in place to reduce the possibility of cross-contamination, ingredient cross-contamination is still a possibility because our kitchens are tiny and our production lines are not segregated.
  • The primary allergens—dairy, almonds, peanuts, gluten (wheat), eggs, sesame, sulphites, and soy—are handled in all of our kitchens.
  • Unfortunately, the only way to be completely safe if you have a severe allergy to any of these allergens or one that could trigger a severe allergic reaction is to avoid using any of our products.

  • Although our kitchens handle gluten-containing products, the prepared Without Gluten line is prepared using gluten-free and non-gluten-containing ingredients.
  • The Royce Cakes makes no claims regarding the gluten-free status of our Made Without Gluten line for your health and well-being. Please get in touch with us if you need more details about the components that go into our Made Without Gluten line.
  • Distilled white vinegar, fermented from barley, is used in our Red Velvet cakes, cupcakes, and tray bakes. The Coeliac Society advised us that, in accordance with EU-wide allergen labeling regulations, we must include the word “barley” in the ingredients list if this vinegar is used in a food product. However, because distilled white vinegar is produced through a fermentation process, the final product contains very little barley and, thus, gluten—much less than what is safe for those who have celiac disease. Because there is so little vinegar in the batter, this level is even lower.
